Starring Luke Goss, Val Kilmer, 50 Cent and 90210’s Annalynne McCord, the action-thriller “Blood Out” has scored ten pre-sales in the wake of last month’s Cannes Film Festival, including acquiring domestic, Canadian and U.K. distribution through Lionsgate. Other territories sold include Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Latin America, Poland, Turkey, Hungary, the Czech and Slovak Republics, Scandinavia and the Middle East.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with the way the film has turned out,” says producer Jason Hewitt, “In a tough market, the presales are a good indication of the strength of our cast and the compelling story they brought to life.” Hewitt also made his directorial debut on the project. “We actually feature ‘Scene Magazine’ in one of the scenes of the film!”
Handling the sales of “Blood Out” and a number of other genre titles is Los Angeles-based sales company Cinema Management Group. CMG president Edward Noeltner said, “Having a good mix of genre driven titles was exactly what our international distribution partners were looking for at this year’s Cannes. In addition to our robust pre-sales on ‘Blood Out,’ we scored good sales with our psychological thriller ‘The Perfect Host’ and fraternity pledge thriller ‘Brotherhood’.”
“Lionsgate has tentatively scheduled an end of the year domestic release,” says Hewitt. “So, we have a considerable amount of work to do here at Films In Motion in post.” Hewitt’s Films in Motion is based at Raleigh Studios in Baton Rouge.
