COMIC CON: ‘Salem’, ‘American Horror Story’, ‘The Walking Dead’ Lined Up

After three fantastic seasons of filming, including one in New Orleans, the cast of American Horror Story will be making its debut at Comic-Con in San Diego this year. The FX show has had to miss the convention the past couple of years because of its production schedule.

The cast from American Horror Story: Coven, which received a slew of Emmy noms yesterday, and the new season Freak Show, includes Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson. The cast will take a look back at the recent season Coven as well as some secrets from the upcoming season Freak Show on Saturday, July 26 from 7-8 PM in room 6DE.

The cast and creators for the WGN series Salem will also be in San Diego for Comic-Con on Saturday, July 26 from 5:45-6:45 PM on room 6DE. Shane West, Janet Montgomery, Seth Gabel, Ashley Madekwe, Iddo Goldberg and Elise Eberle will be in attendance, accompanied by executive producers Brannon Braga, Adam Simon and Josh Barry. They’ll be offering a look back and the first season of the series.

The ratings juggernaut The Walking Dead will be returning to Comic Con for its fourth year, after just wrapping its amazing fourth season. Attracting walkers from all over, the zombie drama will hold a cast/creator panel on Friday, July 25 in Hall H, the Con’s biggest venue, from 12:20-1:20pm. On the panel will be cast favorites Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Chad Coleman and Michael Cudlitz. They will be joined by executive producer and showrunner Scott Gimple, executive producers Gale Anne Hurd, Robert Kirkman, David Alpert and Greg Nicotero, who is also the show’s special make-up effects guru.

Penny Dreadful will also be making its first appearance at Comic Con. Having wrapped up its first season on June 27, Showtime has revealed their plans for the freshman horror drama’s presence. On Thursday, July 24 from 6-7 PM in ballroom 20 Josh Hartnett, Reeve Carney, Harry Treadaway and creator/writer/executive producer John Logan will be doing signings. Showtime’s Penny Dreadful has put its branding on more than 150,000 lanyards to be worn by attendees.

20th Century Fox TV has announced that Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) will be returning to Comic-Con to celebrate the DVD/Blue-ray release of 24: Live Another Day on July 24 from 10-11AM in Ballroom 20.  Along with 24, three other Fox TV series will be making their debut at Comic-Con. The cast of Witches Of East End will appear on Thursday, 5:45-6:45 PM in room 6DE. Fox will also be giving you a first look at TNT’s new FBI undercover agent series Legends from Howard Gordon, Alexander Cary (Homeland) and David Wilcox (Fringe) starring Sean Bean on Thursday in room 6A from 12:30-1:30 PM.

USA Network has also released that their new drama series Dig, which will have a panel on Thursday July 24 at 11:30 AM. Appearing at the Hilton Bayfront’s Indigo Ballroom will be Jason Isaacs, Anne Heche, Lauren Ambrose, Alison Sudol and the co-creators and executive producers Gideon Raff and Tim Kring.

Making another debut at Comic-Con is A&E’s Bates Motel cast at 3:30-4:30 PM on Friday in room 6A followed by History’s Vikings at the same venue from 4:45-5:45 PM featuring Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick and many others from the cast and creators.
