Elizabeth-Olsen-6-webThe cast for the new country music biopic I Saw The Light is coming together. Elizabeth Olsen has joined Tom Hiddleston in the upcoming film, the story of country singer Hank Williams’ rise to stardom.

The film marks a return to Louisiana for Olsen, who shot Oldboy in New Orleans in 2012. Shooting in Shreveport will be sort of a “full-circle moment as far as Williams’ legacy is concerned.” Williams started his early career on the renowned Louisiana Hayride radio program, which originated from the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium.

I Saw the Light will follow Hank Williams’ rise to stardom from his first marriage in 1944 to his Grand Ole Opry debut in 1949. The country icon passed away in 1953 at 29 due to heart failure from drug and alcohol use. Hiddleston will play the legendary Hank Williams and Olsen will play his wife, Audrey Mae. Hiddleston recently debuted his Williams at the Wheatland music festival. The project begins shooting in Shreveport in October.
