One of the few Marvel Comics properties not under mother Disney’s control, the Fantastic Four has already received a few big screen incarnations. The most notable are two Twentieth Century Fox features: 2005’s Fantastic Four and 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Both were directed by Tim Story. There is also a low-budget 1994 version we’ll discuss later.
Only six years after the release of Rise of the Silver Surfer, Fox is rebooting the comic book foursome, and Scene Magazine has learned that The Fantastic Four will be produced in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at Raleigh Studios Baton Rouge at the Celtic Media Centre.
Produced by Matthew Vaughn and helmed by Chronicle director Josh Trank, the film has yet to announce which actors will portray Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm. However, Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan has been rumored for Johnny Storm/The Human Torch and Girls star Allison Williams has auditioned for Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman. But possibly the best film adaptation is director and University of New Orleans alum Oley Sassone’s 1994 flick The Fantastic Four, produced by legendary B-movie director Roger Corman. You can find that excellent action adventure film’s trailer below.
