Production for The Host, the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s novel, is currently underway in New Orleans. The first crop of photos from the science-fiction film have just been released. Both photos feature actors Saoirse Ronan and Max Irons, who star as Melanie and Jared. Ronan, who has previously had starring roles in Atonement and Hanna, plays one of the Earth’s remaining free spirits while an alien known as a Wanderer strives to take over her soul.
Diane Kruger also stars in the sci-fi romance as a Seeker, an alien tasked with regulating the invasion of Earth. Any fans seeing The Hunger Games will be able to see a teaser trailer for The Host, which is currently due to premiere on March 29, 2013. Meyer is a producer on the film, directed by Andrew Niccol.
