Douglas both starred in and acted as executive producer on Spartacus. His position gave him a say in hiring Trumbo to write the screenplay and later he also gave Trumbo credit. These actions aided in the declining of the Blacklist’s power.

The film stars Bryan Cranston as screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, a man who became famous for his classics such as Spartacus and Roman Holiday. After refusing to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947, he was blacklisted bringing his career to a stop. Forcing to write under pseudonyms, he won two Oscars while still blacklisted and eventually returned to using his own name. The cast includes David James Elliot as John Wayne, Michael Stuhlbarg as Edward G. Robinson, Diane Lane as Trumbo’s wife, Helen Mirren as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, John Goodman, Peter Mackenzie, Elle Fanning and Roger Bart.

O’Gorman can be seen in as Fili in The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies when it hits theaters December 17. Trumbo is being filmed in New Orleans and is slated for a 2015 release.mv5bmtkwmdywnjq4nf5bml5banbnxkftztcwotg4mty0oa-_v1-_sx640_sy480_web
