Singer/Songwriter Kristin Diable’s fans fund album

Baton Rouge born singer/songwriter and current New Orleanian Kristin Diable has completed her album “10 out of 10: Ten Songs in Ten Weeks” thanks to overwhelming support in the form of donations from her fans. Using Kickstarter.com as a platform to employ a new fan-funded model of producing music, Diable’s original goal of $7,000 in donations was exceeded by 215%, totaling $15,083.

Diable says this was exactly the kind of progressive vision she was interested in doing when she moved from New York to New Orleans a year ago. “I live in this city to contribute to it and I’m so overjoyed to see a progressive model like this be launched here with such success,” said Diable.

“The days of a traditional record label funding preproduction for artists such as myself are long over. The power and process stay in the hands of the people that care about the music the most: the fans who love it and the musicians who love to make it,” said Diable.

Backers of the project will receive a variety of exclusive benefits, ranging from project updates, new music and downloads and personalized mix tapes to private house concerts. Songwriting lessons and even executive producer credits will be offered as well as guest appearances on the upcoming record and music videos.
