Lionsgate has picked up rights to the New Orleans-shot thriller Beyond Deceit. The film is the directorial debut of writer/producer Shintaro Shimosawa (Grudge).

The film is currently in production in New Orleans and has an incredible cast that is quarterbacked by legends Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins. This marks the first time the renowned actors will star alongside each other. Anthony Hopkins was recently in New Orleans filming Kidnapping Mr. Heineken. Also starring in the film is Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Alice Eve (Entourage), Julia Stiles (Ten Things I Hate About You) and Byung-hun Lee.

Ben Chase (Duhamel) is a handsome and confident attorney who lives in New York City with his wife. On the fast track at a big law firm, Chase is spearheading a high profile case when an ex-girlfriend from college reappears and then comes up dead. And Chase is the prime suspect.

Shimosawa will direct from his own screenplay. The film is being produced by Ellen S. Wander and William DeLaney.

There is no current release date for the film, but an early 2016 release is expected. If you’re interested in working on the film, or various films in the New Orleans area, visit jobScene.
