SCENE PRESENTS: A Special Screening of ‘Student Bodies’ with Director Andrew Drazek

by Arthur Vandelay on August 1, 2014

After a screening in Los Angeles last week, director Andrew Drazek will screen his new film Student Bodies this Saturday night in Baton Rouge. Presented by Scene Magazine, the special invitation-only screening will be held at the Celtic Media Centre, where the Fantastic Four reboot is currently filming.

Drazek previously helmed the subversive 2009 comedy All American OrgyStudent Bodies is his second feature-length directorial effort.

Student Bodies is a comedy that tonally treads between Mel Brooks and John Waters. Shaking up the sex comedy genre by featuring a female protagonist, the fast-moving film delivers the genre’s requisite gross out gags while also weaving in smarter, more subtle jokes that sneak up on you. The result is a crass comedy with surprisingly complex underpinnings that plays like a pop record.

Written by Ted Beck, the film stars Whitney Moore, Tom Arnold, Simon Rex and Django Unchained‘s Laura Cayouette. The Ledge‘s Michael Mailer is producing. Nick Thurlow is executive producing.
