“Live Original”

by Ainsley Beeman on September 10, 2013

Waterfowl, ducks in particular, have always been a topic of conversation in the bayous of Louisiana but now the verbiage has migrated from coast to coast! Thanks to Duck Dynasty’s Robertson family, bandanas and unruly facial hair has become a trend accepted in places as prestigious as the White House. Camouflage has indeed made a comeback, filling magazines and blogs everywhere as one of this year’s fall fashion necessities and a glass of tea is the hot new accessory for a red carpet event.

While most would say that the reality TV hype has something to do with it, I believe it’s a deeper longing within society to embrace what Sadie Robertson, daughter of Willie and Korie Robertson, so boldly displayed while walking the runway during NYC’s fashion week as she and many other accomplished young women modeled the “Sadie Robertson Live Original Collection” by Sherri Hill.

It doesn’t take long watching Sadie on TV to realize she truly embodies what it means to “Live Original.” Yes, her natural beauty and eye-catching smile, including dimples to die for, are enough to make any designer desire to have Sadie sport their latest fashions. Certainly there are many beautiful young women in this world but what makes Sadie different? Perhaps it’s all found in the upper right hand corner of her fashion line logo…her heart.

You see, one can dress up pretty any day, believing that everyday is a fashion show, but at some point the heart will be revealed. In reality, when you combine pretty and a heart of gold… you get stunning… you get authentic beauty….you get Sadie Robertson.

So congrats Sherri Hill in finding a gem…. Sadie Rob, you were absolutely beautiful and your sweet smile was a breath of fresh air… Thanks for living original! Believing the best is yet to come for you…

Sadie Robertson and Sherri Hill

Sherri Hill is an American fashion designer and businesswoman who specializes in formal eveningwear. Hill gained recognition in the world of pageantry when various Miss America, Miss USA and Miss Universe contestants won in gowns she had designed. Many of her dresses have been featured on red carpet events by members of young Hollywood and continue to fill the dreams of young women everywhere as their dream prom dress. The “Sadie Robertson Live Original Collection” by Sherri Hill features a line of modest ball gowns and formal wear with a sophisticated retro flair.

Watch Sadie walk in NYC’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week for a glimpse inside the “Sadie Robertson Live Original Collection” by Sherri Hill.

Festival Fashion at Jazz Fest

by Andi Eaton

It was a thunderous afternoon when Joe Cocker took the Woodstock stage forty-three years ago in a tie-dyed v-neck with his version of a skinny bootleg jean. The following morning, after Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young played through the night, Jimi Hendrix, in his now iconic fringe-tasseled cape, closed the weekend with “The Star-Spangled Banner.” […]

Infinitely Warm

by Lauren Gilbert

The infinity scarf is a new and ever-popular trend that appears to be taking over faster than a tsunami. This whirlwind fashion jumped into vogue about a year ago, its popularity emerging from California. This scarf is truly quite inspired. While the concept seems simple, it is actually functionally brilliant. When a scarf falls off […]

THE SCIENTIST OF STYLE

by Lana Hunt

Amber Lehman may verifiably have every woman’s dream job. The scientist turned Nashville styling heavyweight is essentially a professional shopper. Sounds fun right? While she wouldn’t disagree, being a professional stylist is about much more than perusing the mall. Though she now has a drool-inducing resume, including styling videos for the likes of Kenny Chesney, […]
