charismacarpenter-header

Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Charisma Carpenter joins Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens with an essential role. The Vegas native will play Ariana Grande’s mother in the New Orleans-shot horror-comedy series.

We also got huge news of the series premiere via Emma Robert’s Instagram. Scream Queens will premiere on Fox on Tuesday, September 22. Pledge semester for the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority can’t come here soon enough and we’re all very excited for the fall premiere.

The New Orleans-shot series – which also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Nick Jonas, Billie Lourd and Keke Palmer – takes place on the campus of Wallace University where their Red Devil mascot goes on a murder rampage.

TRAILER: ‘Scream Queens’ Latest Promo

by Jordan McGuire on June 23, 2015

The most recent teaser trailer of the New Orleans-shot Scream Queens, the genre blending horror-comedy anthology series, shows the underlying motives of the Wallace University Red Devil mascot. A couple of months ago, show creator Ryan Murphy claimed that the identity of the killer would be revealed at the end of the show. Fans can see the killer eyeing his/her future victims from outside of the majestic sorority house.

In the trailer, we see each cast member together at a sorority party. Inside the house, there’s an abundance of red solo cups and the song “Die Tonight?” by Charli XCX keeping the party alive. We see Emma Roberts and Abigail Breslin; the unwanted pledges, Keke Palmer and Lea Michele; and the dean and scream queen herself, Jamie Lee Curtis. The party is rocking inside as the killer waits just beyond the front doors wielding a familiar knife.

The first season of Scream Queens is set to premiere this fall on Fox. The lethal cast includes Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Ariana Grande, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Nick Jonas, Skyler Samuels, Billie Lourd and Oliver Hudson.

Each week at least one character will be killed, though it is unclear which character will be killed off first. After reading the YouTube comments – I don’t suggest this tactic – many think Jamie Lee Curtis could be the mystery killer. Leave a comment below and tell us who you think the killer is.

TRAILER: ‘Scream Queens’

by Jordan McGuire on May 17, 2015

The first real trailer for Fox’s Scream Queens is upon us, and it’s a “Good evening, idiots.” Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts) greets us and her pledges in the opening scene. The New Orleans-shot horror/comedy anthology series is created by Glee architect Ryan Murphy.

The teaser trailers for the show featured pink bubble gum, knives and blood. You can check out those teaser trailers here. This new trailer shows the hierarchy of the Kappa Kappa Tau house and it shows Chanel Oberlin solely atop of the food chain. The trailer shows the hilariously nerdy Lea Michele, donning her neck brace and executing peculiar upper body twitches. Ariana Grande is featured screaming like a beautiful, glowing sun goddess (stolen from Leslie Knope). The new trailer also shows the original Scream Queen herself, Jamie Lee Curtis saying, “Worst case scenario. There is a serial killer on the loose.”

The first season is set to premiere in October, set on a college campus that is rocked by a series of murders. The deadly cast includes Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Ariana Grande, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Nick Jonas, Skyler Samuels, Billie Lourd and Oliver Hudson. Scream Queens is produced by 20th Century Fox and Ryan Murphy Television.

TEASER: New Orleans-Shot ‘Scream Queens’

by Jordan McGuire on April 14, 2015

Initially we saw Emma Roberts blowing the now-iconic Scream Queens pink chewing gum bubble. Now we see Emma Roberts holding the knife, using the blade as a mirror and she applies blood red lipstick. Other promos included Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee) cooly blowing a bubble that eventually pops by the force of an inner demon. Also, watch the very first teaser trailer here.

Thus far, Murphy has released four similar teaser trailers for his new horror-comedy series. Scream Queens follows a series of murders that leaves a college campus in shambles. Emma Roberts will star with Keke Palmer, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele and Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas will have recurring roles in the premiere season.

Scream Queens has been scouting locations in New Orleans and has been filming its fifteen episode order since early March. The show is expected to be released on Fox in late October. Visit the Scream Queens Daily Buzz website here.

Ryan Murphy Teases New TV Show ‘Scream Queens’

by Jordan McGuire on February 19, 2015

American Horror Story and Glee scribe Ryan Murphy teases Scream Queens for Fox. This new horror comedy appropriately released a teaser on Friday the 13th. In the teaser, a blonde teen chews gum and blows an childishly large bubble. As she pulls her best Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson eyebrow raise, a knife thrashes through the frame exploding her happy-go-lucky bubble and blood fills the screen, unveiling the Scream Queens logo. Although it’s only a quick tease, it makes clear the direction of the show.

Emma-Roberts-webThe anthology series will star Jamie Lee Curtis, who got her start in the 1978 film, Halloween, and then crafted her trade over the past three decades. Scream Queens will also star American Horror Story: Freak Show actress Emma Roberts, Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Abigail Breslin and Lea Michele (Glee). Ryan Murphy has found chemistry with Emma Roberts and Lea Michele and has fit them into his new series. Abigail Breslin has come along way from playing the adorably quirky beauty pageant-hopeful Olive Hoover in Little Miss Sunshine. Breslin is poised for playing a role in a horror comedy as she starred in the underrated film Zombieland.

The first season of the series revolves around a college campus that is defined by a chain of murders. Nick Jonas and current pop sensation Ariana Grande are set for recurring guest-star roles. Scream Queens is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. The series will be filmed in New Orleans. Its timely release date will be in October 2015, just in time for spooky Halloween mayhem.
