THE FASHION SCENE: The Rockstar records at the Music Shed

by Alisha Andrepont on August 31, 2010

Rockstars have a style all their own. With edgy pieces and unpredictable choices, the profession has managed to create a distinct place in the fashion timeline. While fashion experts will never be able to pin down exactly what defines Rockstar Fashion, there are a few surefire ways to compose a rock look for yourself.

Sequins will always be considered glam-rock. This sequined Badgley Mischka single-sleeved oversize top is actually a dress. Leave it to our rocker chick to tuck it into her micro mini for a look all her own. The runways overflowed with leg wear during the fall shows. Pairing socks with tights, boots or even heels is something a number of designers have recently included in their collections. Though unconventional, these pairings will be what the fashion forward are wearing to this fall.

Accessorizing is the perfect way to finalize any look, and eclectic jewelry is one accessory no rocker would be without. Layering a number of pieces like the beautiful necklaces and bracelets here creates dimension and solidifies this undeniably avant-garde style.

This photo of Katherine Bosio was taken at the Music Shed in New Orleans. Located on Euterpe St right around the corner from Second Line Stages, the recording studio hosted legendary alt rockers R.E.M. in late 2009, collaborating with local musicians such as trombonists Mark Mullins, Craig Klein and Greg Hicks of Bonerama.
