Wendell Pierce’s new role as Michael J. Fox’s co-star

wendellWith Treme coming to an end in its fifth and final season, the New Orleans native Wendell Pierce is moving on. Pierce is set to co-star alongside Michael J. Fox on Fox NBC’s comedy series, which has a 22-episode lineup for this fall. The comedy is based off of Fox’s real life and he leads the show as Mike Burnaby, a husband and father of three living in New York and dealing with Parkinson’s disease. Formerly a lead anchor for a news station, Mike decides to go back to work after a break dealing with his disease. Pierce will play Harris, Mike’s boss, a twice-divorced man, who is rumored to be inspired by Pierce. Will Gluck is expected to direct the pilot.
