Black Swan‘s Winona Ryder has joined the cast of director Ariel Vromen’s The Iceman, a thriller based on the Anthony Bruno book about family man and notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski. Ryder will be replacing Crazy Heart‘s Maggie Gyllenhaal as Kuklinski’s unsuspecting wife, Deborah.

In addition to Iceman, the Oscar-nominated actress will be voicing Elsa Van Helsing in filmmaker Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, based on the 1984 short film of the same name. She can next be seen alongside James Franco and Dagmara Dominczyk (Suits) in psychological thriller The Stare.

Currently filming in Shreveport, The Iceman stars Michael Shannon, Chris Evans, Ray Liotta and David Schwimmer. The film is set to be released in 2013.
